USDTWD.ai Taiwan Macro Atlas

Taiwan’s 5 largest liquefied natural gas suppliers

Australia 34% and Qatar 33% led Taiwan’s 2025 liquefied natural gas imports.

What the Data Shows

Taiwan’s gas supply is dominated by two countries. Australia and Qatar each supplied roughly one-third of 2025 liquefied natural gas imports, while the United States supplied 10%. The structure matters because Taiwan is pushing gas-fired generation while keeping only limited gas storage. The graphic gives the import geography behind that power-system exposure.

Data notes & caveats

EIA says Taiwan’s 2025 liquefied natural gas imports exceeded 1.1 trillion cubic feet, but the public workbook used here provides supplier shares rather than exact supplier volumes.

Methodology

Uses EIA’s 2026 Taiwan Analysis Brief and Figure 14 workbook. Values are 2025 import-source shares for liquefied natural gas, shown as percentages rather than estimated volumes.

Source consistency notes

All supplier shares come from one EIA/Vortexa 2025 figure.
