Taiwan semiconductor-equipment suppliers, 2025

Five supplier economies supplied about 82.3% of Taiwan’s 2025 semiconductor-equipment imports.

What the Data Shows

Taiwan’s semiconductor-equipment imports are concentrated in a small set of supplier economies. In MOF’s 2025 selected-commodity table, Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Singapore together supplied about 82.3% of the US$40.1bn semiconductor-equipment import line. The concentration matters because wafer-fab expansion is not only a domestic capex story; it also depends on foreign tool supply and country-specific equipment ecosystems.

Data notes & caveats

Uses MOF selected commodity “semiconductor equipment”; this is broader than only wafer-manufacturing machines. Values are annual 2025 imports by source economy.

Methodology

Rank supplier economies by the annual “semiconductor equipment” selected-commodity import line in MOF Table 9 and calculate shares against the total value.
