Taiwan Science Park Water Use per Revenue Dollar

Official tables compare science-park water use, sales and cubic metres per day per NT$1B.

What the Data Shows

This statistic links Taiwan’s high-tech output to a physical resource constraint. Science parks are revenue-dense industrial clusters, but water demand differs sharply by park mix and site stage. Using the latest official tables, Southern Science Park shows the lowest water use per NT$1 billion of sales, while Central Science Park is highest. The result is a monthly proxy, not a full-year sustainability metric.

Data table

Southern Water 298,859 cubic metres/day
Southern Sales NT$274.4B Feb sales
Southern m³/day/NT$B 1,089 lowest
Hsinchu Water 224,842 cubic metres/day
Hsinchu Sales NT$154.0B Feb sales
Hsinchu m³/day/NT$B 1,460 proxy
Central Water 159,338 cubic metres/day
Central Sales NT$105.8B Feb sales
Central m³/day/NT$B 1,507 highest
Total Water 683,039 cubic metres/day
Total Sales NT$534.2B Feb sales
Total m³/day/NT$B 1,279 all parks

Data notes & caveats

Water data are March 2026 and sales data are February 2026, the latest accessible official tables in this source path. Reclaimed-water caveats differ by park. NT$ means New Taiwan dollars.

Methodology

Sum National Science and Technology Council March 2026 water-use values in cubic metres per day (CMD) by park group. Divide by February 2026 total sales, converted from NT$100m to NT$ billions. Formula: cubic metres/day divided by NT$1B monthly sales.

Source consistency notes

Both inputs are NSTC science-park tables, but they use different latest available months and different physical/financial units.
