Taiwan’s largest naphtha import sources

Naphtha was 60% of Taiwan’s petroleum-product imports; Russia supplied 49% of naphtha.

What the Data Shows

Naphtha is the petroleum-product import that links energy trade to Taiwan’s petrochemical base. EIA reports that naphtha made up 60% of imported petroleum products in 2025 and that Russia supplied 49% of naphtha. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar were the next named sources. The public figure is strong for concentration, but not a complete top-five ranking.

Data table

Naphtha imports 177k b/d total flow
Russia 49% share
UAE 18% share
Qatar 6% share
Other 27% share

Data notes & caveats

Public EIA text names Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, then groups the rest as other. Add Vortexa or Taiwan Customs detail before publishing a literal top-five naphtha supplier page.

Methodology

Uses EIA’s petroleum-product type figure and source note for naphtha. Approximate barrels per day are derived by applying source shares to the 177,091 b/d naphtha import figure.

Source consistency notes

Naphtha product volume and named source shares come from EIA/Vortexa, but the public source does not expose all supplier rows.
