Taiwan’s Largest Ferrous-Scrap Import Suppliers, 2025

Taiwan Ministry of Finance Table 9 ranks ferrous-scrap import rows by value.

What the Data Shows

This statistic tracks Taiwan’s recycled steel feedstock exposure. The United States is the largest named supplier in the official table, followed by Japan, while an aggregate ‘Other countries’ row is large enough to appear in the top five. That aggregate is kept visible rather than disguised as a country. The chart is production-useful, but the caveat matters because the third row is not a single supplier.

Data table

United States $332.4M 46.6%
Japan $141.8M 19.9%
Other countries $70.7M 9.9%
Mainland China $46.5M 6.5%
Australia $38.2M 5.4%
U.S. supplier share 46.6% MOF 2025 selected-commodity table.
Top-five row share 88.1% Includes official Other Countries row.
