USDTWD.ai Taiwan Macro Atlas

Taiwan Science Park Electricity Load per Employee

Southern and Central parks had far higher electricity-load intensity than Hsinchu.

What the Data Shows

Science parks are not just employment clusters; they are power-intensive industrial systems. Electricity load per employee highlights where production is most energy dense. Southern and Central parks look far more power-intensive per worker than Hsinchu in the latest tracker, which aligns with their advanced manufacturing footprint. The live-tracker caveat matters because load data and employment data update on different schedules.

Data table

Southern 28.8 kW per employee
Central 26.5 kW per employee
Hsinchu 11.0 kW per employee

Data notes & caveats

Electricity-load data and employee counts use National Science and Technology Council tracker tables. This is load per employee, not annual kilowatt-hours per employee.

Methodology

Aggregate National Science and Technology Council electricity-load values across sub-parks within Hsinchu, Central and Southern Science Parks. Convert the source unit of 10,000 kW into kW, then divide by the latest employee count for each major park.

Source consistency notes

Both numerator and denominator come from NSTC official trackers, but electricity and employee tables are live and may have different reporting dates.
